Toe Candy

Do you like my new Emerald City toenails? Not rigor mortis green like I know some of you out there are thinking. Emerald City green. Janae did them for me. She is amazing at toenails. She always has pretty toenails, and girlfriend keeps them painted year-round because she wears flip-flops year-round. I'm not kidding you. We live in Idaho, where it snows for crying out loud, and she will be wearing flip-flops in a blizzard. Mind you, she's not snowshoeing or anything in her toenails. In fact, she will drive across the street to see me so she doesn't have to hoof it through the snow in her flip flops and pretty toes, and I, her supposed BFF, am expected to keep my walks shoveled dangit. She's such a princess.

These are my fourth of July toes. Janae did these too. I'm impulsive and impatient so I had her do them several weeks before July 4th, and do you know what happened? They started chipping before I even got to coordinate them with my July 4th outfit. Grrr, that really irritates me. I knew I was going to get the Emerald City toes next and I couldn't very well sport those for the 4th, now could I? Maybe if it were St. Patrick's Day it would have been appropriate. But then I don't wear flip-flops in March so that wouldn't even be likely. Geez.

So anyway, to show my patriotism, I tried to paint my own patriotic toes. I shall not show you a picture of those because it's just too embarassing. Painting pretty designer toes is not as easy as Princess Janae says it is.

Here are her pretty July 4th toes. Aren't they nice? She knows how to take a lovely shade of post mortem blue and work it, doesn't she?

Here are somebody's toes I don't know. I took my memory stick over to Janae's house and made her load it up with toe candy pics so I could do this blog post. She smiled sweetly at me and let me in, and I could tell she was mind rolling her eyes at me. I can tell when she's doing that because she has a little pause where she's thinking about telling me I'm a dork, but then she remembers that I supply her with the photo tape which she cannot live without, and she knows I will cut her off like THAT.

Here are someone else's toenails, again, given to me under duress. I hope not to make you lose your breakfast or anything, but with Janae's toe candy I feel like skipping and singing this:

I feel pretty,
Oh, so pretty,
I feel pretty and witty and bright!
And I pity
Any girl who isn't me tonight.

I feel charming,
Oh, so charming It's alarming how charming I feel!
And so pretty
That I hardly can believe I'm real.

Five bucks to the first person to correctly name that musical. Oh, and cut me some slack on awarding your valuable prize as I will be in transit for a week or so.

I can't believe you have only been gone for 4 days. It feels like it's been forever and you still have 2 and 1/2 more weeks to go. I am sooooo bummed! So, hope you are having fun. Love ya!

  3. Wow!

I've never had my toes professionally done. I rarely paint them (nor my fingernails). Once maybe 13 years ago, my friend's niece (then maybe 12, 13 yrs old) asked me if she could paint my toenails and I said ok and she laughed at my pinky toe nail, or rather, lack thereof! I can not stand to see the white part of the toe nail so I always kept mine short, til this past winter, amid my grief I didn't think to cut my nails and would you know, they no longer rip every time I clip them. So I've tried not to become obsessive and clipping them every few days like I was before! But I still won't grow them too long!
