Spring Cleaning Giveaway!

How many of you out there are super excited to start your Spring cleaning?

Anyone?

Yeah, I figured. I'm not excited either. However, today I want to share something with you that will help you spread out your spring cleaning chores over an entire year so that you don't have the daunting task of doing them all at once. Y'all know I like to procrastinate, so this is right up my alley.

It's this cute little lunchbox looking thing. Isn't it sweet? I bought this from Spring Clean Year 'Round and I'm going to give it away to one of my lucky readers.

Do you want to know what's inside?

Chore cards. Aren't they cute? Well, as cute as they can be for chore cards anyway.

The box comes with these dividers too--number dividers from 1 to 31 representing the dates on the calendar in a given month, and twelve monthly dividers.

You sort the chore cards depending on how often they are to be done. For example, a weekly chore would go behind a number date, then when the chore is completed you would move it seven days out. A monthly chore would be moved behind a month tab, etc. Some chores are done only yearly, so you just have to decide which month you want to do it in.

Each chore card comes with tips as well as the recommended frequency for completing it. Now you might want to change the frequency on some of these because I don't know about you, but I only dust once a year. Whether it needs it or not.

If you want a chance to win this super cute system, leave a comment on this post telling me how you spring clean, or maybe how you don't spring clean. Don't be shy, I won't judge you. I might tease you, but only if you dust more than I do.

I'll pick someone using Random Integer Generator on Friday. Deadline for entering is Friday, March 20th, at noon Pacific time. Good luck!

  1. I really like it when it is done... :D I tackle spring cleaning in one day. (No need to pretend that I will have the desire or gumption to do in a couple days in a row.) I usually partner with my husband. My 5 rooms to his 1...

Stopped by to welcome you to SITS and invite you to be a part of my giveaway. Jump over and check it out. If you have time read about my "I love being carded!" card swap. Everyone likes "good mail", right.

    Super cute spring cleaning box.

  2. My husband and I usually do it together... baseboards, ceiling fans, spiderwebs, front and back porches, sweep out garage, and anything else we can find that needs to be done... this is a super cute idea!

  3. That is sooo cute, I totally can use it. I hate cleaning, I do it everyday!!! Spring cleaning???? what's that????? Just kidding, nah, me and hubby tackle one room a day till the whole house is clean...I mean CLEAN!!! I hope I win!!!

  4. Spring cleaning? Seriously. What's that nonsense all about anyway???

Dusting? You have GOT to be kidding me.

Maybe I need that Spring cleaning Box.....

  5. I am horrible for spring cleaning. I used to be good at keeping my house clean all the time...and then I had kids! I tried a system like this once but it wasn't cute enough for me so I gave it to my sister. Pathetic right? This system looks absolutely adorable and I imagine I would actually look forward to using it. Plus it would save me the trouble of making a cute one myself!

  6. I need need need this! Where do you get started...

  7. Wow, that is a cute chore box! I tried doing something similar with popsicle sticks, but it's not working out.
I don't really Spring clean. It's about as much as I can do to keep all the clutter picked up. I just get random urges to clean this or that throughout the year, then I drop everything and do it. For example I was on a Clorox wipe kick for awhile where I cleaned all my closet doors and trim and all the toys in the toy room while "playing" with my kids. I know it's not environmentally friendly, but it's so easy when you just randomly clean in a spare moment.
I hope the random generator picks me! I need some cleaning inspiration.

  8. I love it!!!! and if Canadian bloggers are allowed to enter, then please enter me!!

I don't really do "spring" cleaning. I tend to clean in spurts. I have tried on many occasions to create a schedule for myself but it has never worked to my satisfaction. I have tried the Flylady method, which is awesome but not for me, especially when I am working. Also because she does not clean on weekends, and that was my best day to do so, when I am working.

I have gotten behind schedule (that is IF I HAD ONE) when my husband was in the hospital (he passed away Nov. 27) and since then I have tried but between all my grief and the fact I'm so far behind it's overwhelming and I am having a tough time getting started again. I will do some cleaning, say, clearing off my counter, and then be worn out, not because it was hard, but because I can only do so much in my emotional state of mind, and then before I could do anything else, my counter needs to be done again.

I'm not complaining, I know that some people may not even get that much done when they've been through what I have been, and others can get much more done. I just get overwhelmed by it, especially since my husband used to pitch in and help out alot (he was great at doing housework, I never had to nag at him, but he had to nag at me sometimes! I told him he should be my wife. *giggle*)

Anyway, sorry for the long rambling post! The short version is that I love those boxes, it looks like something that might work for me, at least I hope so! I may have to purchase one if I don't win! :)

    :)

  9. I so want this! I have been brainstorming over a new system for myself. I do my spring cleaning all in one day. I have a list of "monthly" and "quarterly" cleaning as well. But, I don't have a way to keep it organized, so I rarely gets done when it should! Random Picker things PLEASE CHOOSE ME!

  10. Hmmmmm.....how do I spring clean? Well, I do tend to tidy up closets and reorganize drawers in spring time, but otherwise...not so much. I can't think of a better motivator to get with the program than that adorable little box! = )

  11. I am always doing what most call spring cleaning all year round. I cant handle clutter and as I clean a closet or the shed (which I have done about 4 times in the past 6 months)we just seem to gather more stuff. I usually don't have an order to things I just see something and say that needs cleaned but I never seem to get ahead ever. Maybe something like that could really help me out. Even if I don't win I really need to start making list lol.

  12. I am terrible at spring cleaning. I get started and will absolutely scrub and polish and dust and de-clutter a room... but then it ends with that one room. I burn out and never get to the other rooms. Until the next year maybe. This would be a great idea for me because it is little bits at a time. I can do little bits! Let's hope I'm lucky!

    Thanks Jill! :)

  13. Maybe that cute little box would make cleaning more fun! Maybe? Getting organized with my cleaning was my New Years resolution. It's not going so well!

    ReplyDelete
  14. HA HA!!! Just today, I had brought down my computer scanner from my crashed computer so I could use it with my laptop, and my husband said, as he wiped about a centimeter thickness of dust off of the top of it.... "I just don't understand why our house is SO dusty?" I thought to myself,... um, because I never dust!!! :) Anyway, your box sounds exactly like one that I made years ago. I got the idea from the "Fly Lady" I think. If not from her, then it was from the ladies that inspired her. I can't remember names. Oops. Anyway, I would MUCH rather have your cute one though. Maybe then, I might use it!!! I am still loving your blog, like usual, so keep it up!

    ReplyDelete
  15. I would like to say that we "spring clean", but really my husband and I have no real system, so we just wait until we can't take it anymore, send the kids to Grandma and spend the day cleaning, cleaning and cleaning more!!

    ReplyDelete
  16. I can't even tell you, how NOT a cleaner I am. I so wish I was. I wish I were organized and that my house was clean and that we followed a menu.

Kuddo's to you for your efforts.

  17. Spring Cleaning....more like summer cleaning. I get the kiddos to help during the summer. This item is so cute. I need this BAD! Oh please let me win!!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. You can't imagine my double take when I saw my name in your comments..when I hadn't even commented yet!

This is the first time someone with the same name as commented on the same post as me.

Wierd.. Anyway, This looks like an awesome giveaway! I would love to win this! I keep trying to follow the FlyLady, but I keep getting off track. Maybe this will help!

I'm doing some spring cleaning right now. Any ideas on what to do with stuff I can't get rid of? The Salvation Army is picky these days.

Just dropped in to welcome you to SITS!

    ReplyDelete
  19. That is such a cute giveaway and would be a GREAT way to keep myself on track! I don't really spring clean but when I clean I do room by room with plenty of breaks...you know you can't get overworked cleaning...wouldn't be good!!!

    ReplyDelete
  20. That is so cute! I love the FEELING of spring cleaning but doing it? Not so much. I do insist on washing the outside of the windows on the first nice weekend in April. Then they get rained on the next day. It never fails. But for one day I have the best windows!

Most of the other "spring cleaning" items I try to do when I think of them. But this has got to be a better system!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I actually love cleaning, with the exception of dusting and toilets. I like to do it when the windows can be open to air it all out. Pulling out furniture, moving things around. The best is when the kids are gone and I can turn on some music and just be in a groove.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I use the burn out method of spring cleaning. Wait til I can't stand it anymore and then clean like mad for a day then be exhausted or can't walk for the next 7 days (I have a bad back) then rinse and repeat in a few months.

  23. I just told my husband we needed to schedule a Saturday with no kids for some major spring cleaning. He will do the outside and I'll do the inside. I will do what I have been putting off for months. Clean the blinds, wash baseboards, clean out cabinets. The works. I dread it, but.... gotta get it don!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I love this idea! It would so help me to get organized and maybe ahead of things so I don't dread spring cleaning again this year!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I am the queen of disorganized. This would surely help me out, or not as I do procrastinate. You don't want to see my closet. I keep thinking I need to clean it out but NEVER REALLY WANT TO so there it sits, in all it's mess! Pick me, pick me and help me start getting organized. I love the lunch box. It is super cute. Great motivation! Thanks so much, Elisa

    ReplyDelete
  26. I was going to say pick me - but after scrolling through the comments I say pick Ter - what a rough year - she deserves a cute little helper!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Spring cleaning? What's that???? You know, we if you wait a few months it'll be summer and then you won't have to do any spring cleaning...

    ReplyDelete
  28. My spring cleaning is usually spurred on by a random observation....like I'm sitting on the couch and I see that the decorative shelves on the wall need dusting. So I start dusting them, and that usually opens the can from there...then the china cabinet needs cleaning, the fans need dusting, the baseboards need wipped down. Then fast forward several hours and I'm sprawled on the couch in a sweaty exhausted mess. Ah, the joys! I would love to win this super cute box. I think it would put an end to my cleaning mayhem and force ahem, that is allow me to be more organized!

    ReplyDelete
  29. The only real spring cleaning I do is wash windows. Everything else I try to maintain throughout the year (like cleaning under furniture, appliances, baseboards, etc). This is a great giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I saw these a few weeks ago and I just have to have one... cute/ organized/ functional! That's fantastic

    ReplyDelete
  31. Love it! What a great idea! I don't usually do spring cleaning because I'm busy cleaning throughout the year. This year is going to be different, though. No more cleaning around stuff that's been sitting for too long collecting dust!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Such a great idea!!! Thanks for the cute giveaway....and everything else! ;o)

    ReplyDelete
  33. Wow!! What a neat system! I would love to win that! Right now, I have my spring cleaning list on my computer and I tackle one room at a time.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I don't know if it could be considered spring cleaning but once it's warm enough to open the windows, I do. It allows some "fresh" air to get circulating. And I get to cleaning some much needed (and often neglected) areas like baseboards & cabinets.

I love when the breeze is blowing in, the sun is shining bright and I can sit back and look at the fruits of my labor.

Stopping by to welcome you to SITS! Happy St. Paddy's Day!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Wow, awesome idea!! I need something like that. I'm a list and schedule gal but haven't found a system to work for me as far as cleaning goes. Having something that told me exactly what to do when would be awesome.

And by the way, I don't do any "spring cleaning". Just ask my windows. :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. I am a terrible Spring Cleaner but we've been getting started early since we have to sell our house this summer. I would LOVE THIS--I am all about having a "task" to do and it's easy when I have a list.

  38. OK this is so cool! Great idea Jill...you have always been very creative.

Well its very sporadic here since warm Spring days are hard to come by. But I really have no system for it. If I see the windows are dirty then I dedicate one day to cleaning all the windows inside and out. My main chores that I do on warm Spring days are; window cleaning (love the sunshine that comes through), putting away winter clothes, taking out summer clothes, etc...you know the normally routine for people that have seasons! But of course with two kids it gets a little tricky.

Brian normally goes off and does the yard or something on the cars. Unless we colaborate and delgate I do this and he does that its always a fly by the pants "spring cleaning." Or some days I end up doing 5 things one day and not finishing any of them! I guess a lot has to do with the kids now that I think of it. If we have a major task to do then the kids would have to go to the grandparents house. Otherwise it probably wont get done that day.

    ReplyDelete
  39. This is a very cute way to organize a not so fun task. I actually don't mind spring cleaning. It is the laundry and dishes I could do without. I was just thinking about when to start. It is not spring here until June and then it is iffy. I just need to watch the weather, pick a day I can open my windows and let the fun begin. I would love to win this I know I would benefit, but I am with Marissa and hope that Ter wins. She deserves a cute pick me up.

  40. oops I forgot to leave my name. It's me GaeLyn that posted that anonymous, previous comment.

  41. I am not commenting because I dont want this one. Nope. EEEGads... one more person or thing telling me what to clean and when! ACK! Nope. Not gonna do it.

    ReplyDelete
  42. i try to stay up to date weekly with each week doing a deeper cleaning task but I often feel that I fall short these would be a great tool

    ReplyDelete
  43. This looks really cute - might help out around here - we've been through dozens of systems. The house is too small and often goes through emergency repairs which sometimes we don't recover from - I guess our method of cleaning is "PANIC" or maybe "hit and miss".

    ReplyDelete
  44. ??Spring Cleaning?? Oh that's what I should be doing instead of out riding my Harley and enjoying the sunshine. Maybe this cute system would inspire me!

  45. I love to clean, and look forward to spring cleaning :)
Thanks for the awesome giveaway chance!

  46. Spring cleaning in a house with three little ones who keep you running is almost impossible. I definitely clean in spurts - usually when something finally drives me crazy like cobwebs in the corners and dust on the ceiling fans. The cards look awesome - pick me!! jlhaverdink (at) sbcglobal (dot) net

    ReplyDelete
  47. Wow! So cute! I would clean just so I could pick out one of those cute cards on a daily basis. Not only would I FINALLY have a clean house, but a smile on my face from such a clever idea. Hope I get picked!

  48. This year spring cleaning is going to be twofold in our house: this week I will be cleaning like mad getting ready for relatives visiting and then after they leave it is time for a whole house overhaul before we start packing for our move in May!

    ReplyDelete
  49. My husband only cleans if I tell him that we are having company over:) So, now you know that the party is always at my house!! ( That way everything will either get fixed or cleaned really good!!)

    ReplyDelete
  50. wow youve got alot og comments on this blog auntie!

well im one who actually is seriously exciting about spring cleaning lol.

Cleaning is fun beause of one thing... The house looks amazing afterwards and all your time and effort is worth it and rewarding!

    ReplyDelete
  51. This is a very neat idea!!! I don't really do "spring" cleaning... I get annoyed with clutter and start cleaning things out whenever!!! But it would be nice to have something that reminds me to do it...

    ReplyDelete
  52. You never cease to amaze me with all of your organizational skills... seriuosly, I want this.
I spring clean closet by closet with countless trips to the goodwill. It feels so good!

  53. I am so far behind in my cleaning I need a whole year to get the spring cleaning done.

I really could use a system like this.

  54. Spring cleaning? I think I've heard of that before. ;-)

It's something I desperately need to do but feel completely intimidated by. Mabye the cute cards would help????? maybe.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I am not an organized person like you. I love this idea! It's a tickler file for chores!

So spring cleaning....Usually I get really motivated, for a day or two and dust those areas you don't see very often and scrub my floors and wash windows. But, it has to FEEL like spring before I can ever work up the energy for all that.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Oh this would be awesome! I have a neat little procrastinatore system for spring cleaning. I do a little, put it off, do a little, put it off, and then stay up all night scrubbing my house. It's Oh So Fun! Bleh!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Count me in! I need something like this to get me going since winter is NEVER going to END here! UGH!

    ReplyDelete
  58. What an AWESOME system (and cute box to boot)!

I do my spring cleaning *kind of* a la Flylady. A "zone" for one week/month, working on just one or two rooms a week. Although, here lately things have been going more often...that darn nesting kicking in and all. LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Ohhh, I could so use some of these!! Please!! I need help!! :D

    ReplyDelete
  60. We are in a temporary rental unit until we make a permanant move, so this year I'm skipping the spring cleaning! Call me lazy. I'm just rewarding myself for doing the laundry out in the garage all. winter. long.
I love the cleaning box, though! I'd love to have it! Maybe you could do a tutorial for those of us who don't win ...

  62. Normally I do a big spring cleaning. My schedule this year is not really allowing it, so I am just working on projects as I can get to them. Not really my favorite way to do it, but I guess it is working for this year.

P.S. That chore card set-up is so cute, who wouldn't want to clean with that around.

  65. Spring Cleaning is a dirty word around our house. Ha Ha. The twins are getting older now and are looking for ways to earn money and I have struggled coming up with chores for them to do. The standard day to day stuff sure, but the deep cleaning that keeps us all healthy quite another. This would be a fun perfect way for them to be able to jump in and help. I love the age suggestions. Cute system!

    ReplyDelete
  66. I almost didn't comment because I don't really do spring cleaning. I'm still trying to catch up on the everyday stuff :) I would love to try this system!
