Smashley

This is my friend, Ashley, who I will always refer to as Smash or Smashley.  I meant to post about her sooner than this, but I've been waiting to get a pre-approved picture from her.  She's particular like that.

I don't know what the big deal is.  She always looks cute. She has cute dimples (on her face where they should be) and she's always perfectly made up, the hair is flawless, and the clothes and jewelry are always color coordinated and stunning.

When Smash gave me this picture she said "I look a little tired, but it's my new look since Garrett was born."  Garrett is four.  Poor Smash, the kid just does not sleep much.  He doesn't need much sleep, therefore, no one else in the house gets it either.

Anyway, whatever.  I wish I looked that "tired."

Smash is a hard person to get to know.  At first anyway.  She has a great sense of humor, but you don't really get that until you've known her for awhile.  A long while.

She's not afraid of confrontation at all, so she'll let fly whatever she's thinking and you're never sure about how serious she is, so there's always that questioning and searching thing going on in your mind. I think she gets a lot of funny looks from people.

Smashley comes to my house every Saturday night to crop, and one Saturday night Peanut Head was yelling at the girls to pick up their toys before bed, and he was doing it in his usual Drill Sergeant manner.  I don't say anything when he's in this mode, because he lacks a sense of humor at times like these, so I just kept quiet.  Hard to believe, I know.  Smash didn't though.

She saluted Peanut Head and said "YES SIR!"  I swear, I held my breath when she did this.  I didn't know what Peanut Head was going to do and I was a little bit scared for her life.  I at least expected him to let fly with something colorful from his vast Marine Corps word bank, but to my surprise, he just threw a stuffed animal at her head instead. Whew!  She lives another day.

I think I had Smashley running scared this week because I kept referring to this post as my Smash Trash.  She must have really thought I was going to chuck her under the bus or something.  Honestly though, I don't even think I have any trash about her.  I love her to pieces and I'm glad to have her as a friend.

Now that you've been properly introduced, I can let fly with any future tidbits that come along pertaining to Smashley, and you'll know who I'm talking about.  Game on.
