Frazzled and Seeking Balance

I started this blog a little over six months ago, and in the beginning my goal was to post every day. I've done a pretty good job with that, but I'm at the point right now where I'm asking myself "Why?"

The simple answer to that is that I'm obsessive and compulsive and I carry things to the extreme.

Well, since we're at the beginning of a new year, I'm doing a little reflecting. That reflecting has led me to admit that I cannot do it all, and I need to focus on what's important. While my blog is important to me, it is not the most important thing.

I've been lacking in sleep and sanity, and if I want to get healthy (less round) and strong, then I have to put some other things first.

That being said, all this really means is that I am releasing myself from my psycho-freakish- every-day-blog-posting goal. I just pulled that little bit of psychobabble out of my bum. I'm sure it's probably not in the DSM-V.

I promise I'll still be posting, just not for sure every day. So don't think I went off and died, Mattie Cake, okay?

I'm planning one of my super helpful reviews  (haughty voice on reviews, please) on the Wii Fit. Stay tuned . . .

  1. Hey "Frazzled and Seeking Balance" could be my name! I'm trying to get lots of things done at home before I go back to full time work as a teacher (when our Australian school year starts at the end of January). But I also need to get fit and healthy and I also need time out for me.
I'll wait for your review of the Wii Fit because we're loving ours!

  2. Can't wait to hear about the Wii! I want one so bad. Mark and I decided we are waiting until the kids and I move this summer...for now I will have to live through other Wii's. Poor me! Guess just watching BL is what I get! I like these people this season's going to be an interesting season!

  3. Neighbor, you are just living up to your title....controlling the chaos. Sometimes that takes more effort; so you do whatever you need to do, but DO NOT stop blogging. You could be a M-W-F blogger for awhile. And you will have to show/report back on the effort of your Wii-ing.....and progress on your chin-ups....and such. And how about posting some yummy recipes that move you/us toward these goals? Yea, that would be good. I know by your notebook that you have no lack of topics to cover, so just think of us when you are able, and go forth and live! ;)

  4. I hear ya sister. You can't do it all and no one expects ya to! I'll be here to read whenever you feel like posting!

Love to hear about the Wii Fit.

I SO have to get a Wii. It's starting to become an obsession with me. I am thinking about putting a basket or a can by the front door and charging an entry fee so I can buy a Wii.

    You think I'm joking.

  5. I'm glad you are taking control of your time (and sanity--very important)! I imagine that blogging every day, or very nearly, would be overwhelmingly time consuming for a mere mortal like me, and I'm impressed that you kept it up for so long while still having time for all of the other things that you do. That said, I am VERY glad that you have not yet decided to stop altogether because I really enjoy reading your thoughts.

  6. Girl. there is absolutely no reason that you have to blog every day! Enjoy your family and if you have time for the rest of us then great. You and your family come first. We will still be here ready to hang on your every word. :) Seriously though, we will still be hanging around. Blog when you have time or feel should be enjoyable for you. :)

  7. I can't wait to hear about the Wii too. All the things I have heard have been positive but, you put such a great spin on stuff.

  8. I always wondered how you were able to post EVERYDAY???? We, your fans, love you, but we understand.....get some sleep!

  9. I can so relate to your need to blog less. When you're ready to blog more, though, I tagged you today. Check it out.

  10. Way to go girl! Simplify, Simplify, Simplify! I can't wait to hear about the Wii fit. I've been trying to hook myself up with one, but no such luck yet.

  11. Thank you EVERYONE, for your sweet comments. It means a lot to me.

  12. "Lacking in sleep and sanity" GOSH! I could have written that! I'm with ya sister! Blog when you want. Blog when you don't want. It's your blog and you can blog if you want to! Wait! Did I just change the words to a song to make it dorky? Oh my! My DH is rubbing off on me!

Anyway. What I'm saying is we (your loyal fans) want you to be happy and balanced. Yes, we will miss your daily posts but do what works for you. If you don't, you'll end up resenting that you ever started the blog because of the pressure you feel to blog least that's how I am. Sometimes I blog every day and sometimes it's once a week or couple of weeks. I blog for I can get these thoughts in my head out of my head in an attempt to find sanity.
