Cupcakes Galore!

Is that a tease of a title or what? How else am I going to get you to come over here?

Actually, I've been doing a little sewing lately. With this cee-UTE cupcake fabric that I just had to have when I saw it.

To me, this fabric just screams out MAKE AN APRON WITH ME! Don't you think?

So, I'm going to give this yummy apron away to one of my lucky readers. Don't worry, I'm making another for myself.

It even has a little pocket. Yeah, a pocket that was supposed to open at the top and be divided down the middle so that it was two pockets. Except that you had to be a contortionist to be able to use it. Seriously, I made one apron that way and when I had my hands in the pockets, I looked like a big dorky kangaroo. No lie.

So I changed it a little, with my limited abilities, so that the pocket opens on the sides and it's only one big pocket instead of two useless pockets.

However, I must warn you that I am not a professional seamstress by any stretch of the imagination, and I made this with my limping-along sewing machine. So, if you win it you have to promise to not let any of your for real seamstress friends inspect it too closely, okay?

In order to win this, leave me a comment and tell me what is your absolute favorite dessert in the whole world. And don't tell me that you don't like dessert because I will not be giving this apron to any freaks out there. Deal?

Contest ends at midnight Sunday, July 19th. Good luck!

  2. White wedding cake with cheap white super sugary (NOT creamy and whippy....nice and thick!) icing! And some of those old school sugary roses too that turn your mouth colors....I'm DROOLING!

  3. Chocolate pie! I love it when the crust is just barely done. I always ask for this instead of birthday cake from my mom.

    The apron is adorable!

  4. I love that fabric; I used it to make birthday outfits for my girls one year. ;)

Cheesecake!!!! I could it eat every day.

  5. baked (not frozen) chocolate cheesecake, with no crappy fruit to dilute the chocolate... just chocolate and cheesecake. OMG so good.

LOVE your apron by the way!

  7. OH!! I just have to have that apron! My daughter and I have been baking fools this summer and I love the fabric! Been experimenting with royal icing and sugar cookies alot lately, but since I just got back from NY, I'd have to say my favorite dessert is cheesecake! Yum! I hope I win!!

  8. I would have to say my Grandma's (not just any ol' recipe will do) Peanut Butter Bon Bons. These were coveted treats at Christmas. It was the ONLY time of year she made them. No special request accepted the other 364 days of the year. You would think after 8 years of togetherness and all the gifts I get from my kids and my husband that an apron would have made its way in... nope. I am still apronless. I have even ASKED for one, still no apron. Guess I'll have to use the rolling pin to knock some sense into them.

    Just kidding.

  9. Real-life, homemade-from-scatch, chocolate pudding. I even like it warm. So yum!

  10. I think this is a trick question. I think we're supposed to say "cupcake" because that's what's on the apron (which is adorable, btw).

But my favorite desert (really, you expect me to choose just ONE??! That's kind of cruel but because I think you're awesome I will narrow it down to just one) I think I will have to say ice cream. I love ice cream. almost any kind of ice cream. But my favorite ice cream I think is Amaretto Gelati from this awesome place in our town. But really, I am a big fan of deserts of all kinds.

  11. i LOVE aprons. largely because I am a slob when I cook.

FAVORITE desert? can one have just ONE favorite? hmmm... maybe my mom's pecan pie. or my sister in laws Molten' Lava Chocolate cake. do s'mores count?

    plain cookie dough is good...

  12. My absolute favorite dessert is Chocolate meringue pie! I craved it both my pregnancies and it has always been a fave!!!

  13. Oh my gosh. My favorite dessert is any dessert I can have with my friend Pam - who is a cupcake fanatic! I have no talents of my own (she is ultra talented in all things) and i would love to give her this AWESOME cupcake apron! My favorite dessert? FRIENDSHIP! oh and chocolate chip cookie dough...raw.

  14. Ok, this is hard. VERY HARD.
Its hard for me because I have different 'versions' of favorites.
For instance, I LURVE my Mamaw's homemade banana pudding (could eat the whole bowl), but I don't necessarily like everyone else's banana puddings.
Another favorite is my Mom's chocolate eclair. DE-LISH!
And my favorite homemade candy? That'd be the Martha Washington candy. Christmas just wouldn't be Christmas at our house if we didn't have the Martha Washington candy.

Ok, with all this talk, Christmas may have to come early at my house. I'm salivating just thinking about it!!!

  19. I would have to say #1 is my great grandmother's cherry pie, but she's not here to make it. So, with that I would say peach cobbler with ice cream.

  20. You crack me up! I laughed aloud about the freak comment and now my three year old is demanding to know what I am laughing at. Way cute apron. Promise I won't inspect too carefully, but trust me...your abilities are better than mine...I don't even own a machine.

Okay, so my favorite dessert is chocolate zucchini cake. YUM! A great way to use up zucchini. Hope I win! Thanks for doing the giveaway. I'm excited.

  21. This has got to be the cutest apron ever.

My MIL makes this really yummy stuff called lincoln log pudding. I am not sure what it is made of BUT I love it. I do have a recipe but it is so much better from her.

  22. It's so hard to choose one favorite -- aren't all desserts wonderful? But I think today my favorite would be lemon cream cake. Very summery. Of course, for my birthday (in November) I almost always request carrot cake from scratch with cream cheese frosting. =) My tastes must change seasonally.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I love creme brulee or if I feel the need to be good- a good old fashioned berry crisp( especially in the summertime).

    ReplyDelete

  26. Funny thing, that apron is screaming "Wear me Gwen!"

I am simple when it comes to desert. Well, simple if you call ice cream, raspberry preserves, chocolate sauce and Cool Whip simple.

I made that last night and trust me, I could have used the apron!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Beautiful apron! I would wear it to make my favorite dessert-white cake with thick, old fashioned butter creme frosting. Yummm!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Cute apron! My absolute favorite dessert is Lemon Creme Supreme. It is a lemon cheesecake-type layer with another layer of a lemon curd-type layer on top of that. So good!

    ReplyDelete
  29. My favorite dessert is fruit pizza! Yummmmm! I was just diagnosed with gestational diabetes, so I won't be able to enjoy it again for another 3 months. But I tell ya... when the time comes I will probably eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. By the way... the apron is adorable!

  37. I LOVE your apron!!So cute.

As far as desserts go I love them all. Cheesecakes are one of my favorites, ice cream cakes are another, oh I love ice cream on a brownie with hot fudge sauce poured on top, the other day I had another variation of this, I was given a doughnut with a scoop of ice cream on top, then choice of chocolate, carmel, or fruit toppings, so yummy as if the doughnut wasn't enough calories on it's own.

Anyway here's for hoping that I win your adorable apron. kristymsims@hotmail.com

  41. Apple Dumplings w/ Ice Cream! But there aren't many desserts that I don't like!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Hmmm... I like all desserts (REALLY!), but I think my absolute favorite is chocolate mousse. None of that fake chocolate mousse out of a box, though. It has to be the real deal -- raw egg yolks and all...

    ReplyDelete
  43. Hot apple crisps baked in a mini cast iron skillet w/ cinnamon ice cream & caramel. Yum, yum!

    ReplyDelete
  44. OMG OMG OMG, It has to be ME!!!!! I love dessert! Well, except for chocolate cream pie cause I puked that up in the middle of the night once when I was a kid. Long story... short version is that we were on vacation, I said it tasted bad. Everyone said it tasted bad. Dad made me eat it. I puked in both my sister's hair. They still hate me and I still hate that Pie.

My favorite, though, has to be chocolate cake with fudgy chocolate frosting. Or maybe white cake cupcakes with white buttercrean frosting. Oo! Or Cherry Delight... that we now call Cherry surprise since my mom whoops'd once a decade ago and put salt in the graham cracker crust instead of sugar.

But dont get me wrong... I wont turn up my nose at apple dumplings or pudding or jello or cookies or candies or even just a bowl of strawberries and an equal size bowl of real whipped cream... Nope, wont turn those down. Just the chocolate cream pie. You can have that all to yourself!

I know I won! Just aprom me already!!! =D

  45. Coconut meringue pie is my favorite, usually. When I make it, I will also eat it for breakfast. But I also make a chocolate chip oven cookie in a skillet and as soon as it comes out you put vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, and whipped cream on it, and I love that too. But it doesn't keep for breakfast.

    ReplyDelete
  46. hot fudge cake with whip cream and a cherry on top. yummy yum yum. Also bakery cake with buttercream frosting.

    ReplyDelete
  47. The apron is adorable! I love the fabric, how fun is that?!

My fave, no contest, is peppermint ice cream with hot fudge sauce. But since peppermint ice cream is hard to find before November, cinnamon rolls come in a close second.

    ReplyDelete
  48. AHHH, I MUST have!!

My fav dessert is warm brownies with mint chocolate chip ice cream on top. Simple, I know, but it's one thing that I can actually make by myself and actually enjoy! :D

  60. Cookies! Love them, esp pb. btw, wouldn't dream of showing the apron to seamstress friend for review (i will show off to everyone though). i once tried to super glue a tear in my dog bed. well, it almost caught fire. started smoking and had a terrible odor. i hot glued a button on and it worked up until i tried to use it then i couldn't get the fabric aroung it to secure. i've stapled my pants to hem them, scotch taped tears in shirts, put white out and black markers to cover shoe scuffs, used paper clips in my hair and as i sit typing this, there is a saftey pin where a button once was (six months ago). Never found the missing one and there all fabric wrapped. BELIEVE ME, I'M NO SEWING W EXPERT!!

  64. LOL - no aprons to freaks. Love it! :)

My fav fav fav dessert, cheesecake. In fact, back when hubby and I were computer gamers (yeah, sometimes 14-20 hours ... a DAY!) the battle cry for our little band of misfits: Cheesecake! Seriously. I am such a bad influence on people. But at least we were happy! haha

Really, as much as I love cheesecake, I just love dessert. Ice cream, cakes, pies, you name it. You can tell by the way my computer chair (doesn't) fit my behind.

    Cheers!
