Valentine Bookmarks Take Three

I made a couple more Valentine bookmarks to add to the bazeeeeeelion I made last year. You can never have too many Valentine bookmarks, right?

I made these because the boys in my class last year requested some that were a little more manly. Apparently pandas and hearts don't cut it for them. Picky, picky.

It took me awhile to get around to it, but I came up with these camo ditties. They're a little plain, but they're manly, so I don't want to hear any more complaining about cutesy bookmarks. The cutesy will not stop, but I can be reined in from time to time.

For short little bursts.

Anyway, these new bookmarks were inspired by the boys, but you know I'm all about equal rights for women, so I had to do a girl camo version too.

The digi bookmarks are posted below for you. Make sure to click on them first to get the best resolution, then save them to your desktop. Upload them to your favorite photo center and order as 4x6 prints. Cut them in half lengthwise, then fold each bookmark in half and attach small magnet pieces to the inside. See this post if you want the step-by-step.

If you want last year's mostly girlie bookmarks, go here. If you want the subsequent boy bookmarks, go here. Happy Valentine's Day, Peeps!

Christmas Bookmarks

I made a couple new holiday bookmarks. I love the Santa and Mrs. Claus heads, so I couldn't resist.

If you weren't around here last year, you missed these holiday bookmarks. They're still up though, so you can go here and grab them if you'd like them.

And here's the new one. Enjoy!

By the way, I'll be working on the holiday paint can inserts this week, so stay tuned. I've just switched over to the new sbcStudio software for the Mac, so I'm doing a bit of stumbling around, and I'm not very fast with it. Plus, there were some problems with the software initially, that have now been resolved.

I promise I haven't forgotten about you.

More Halloween Boo!kmarks and Spooky Banner Winner

I whipped up a few more Halloween bookmarks this evening, because I really wanted some monstery bookmarks. I'm quite fond of monsters. My classroom is decorated with monsters, and my favorite monster of all time is the Cookie Monster.

For obvious reasons, of course.

These are the bookmarks I made last year. If you want to snag them, go here.

The new monster bookmarks are below. Please remember to click on each image before saving them to your desktop. Wait for the enlarged image to open up in your window, then right click and save them to your computer, one at a time. If you don't do that, you won't get the best resolution.

And finally, I know y'all are waiting to hear who won the Spooky banner. I won't torture you any longer. The winner is . . . Ann Hirano. Please e-mail me with your address, Ann, and I'll send the banner to you chop, chop.

Happy Halloween Peeps!

Back to School Magnetic Bookmarks

Now I realize that some of you have already sent your kids back to school, but in my neck of the woods, school doesn't start until August 30th. Hence the seemingly late bookmarks. The girls and I have been traveling, without men thankfully, and we've had family visiting since we got back, so I got these up as fast as I could without neglecting all the lounging around and loafing I've been doing. Real important stuff.

Regardless, I've been thinking about doing some back to school bookmarks for months, because I want to give some to my new batch of sixth graders. There are so many uses for the bookmarks, besides the obvious of keeping the place in the book they're currently reading. They're also good to mark planner pages, textbook pages, notebooks, etc. Using them saves a lot of flipping around, and when I've got a classroom full of students, it's important to keep things moving.

I'm so easily distracted, you know.

Anyway, because you know I never forget about my peeps, here are some for you. If school hasn't already started, wouldn't it be fun to leave them at the table for your kiddos on the first day of school?

Remember to click on each image before saving them to your computer, so you get the best possible resolution. If you need instructions for assembling the magnetic bookmarks, go here .

Have fun!

Teacher Appreciation Bookmarks

Did you know that this week is Teacher Appreciation Week? It is. Malibu Barbie inspired me to make these bookmarks for the teachers at my girlies' school, and I thought you might like to get in on it too.

There are eight different teacher quotes--two per 4x6 print.

These pictures show the front of the bookmarks on the ends, and in the middle is the back of each design.

My favorite is this colorful one.

If you've never made my bookmarks, go here for the step-by-step.

If you plan to attach them to gift cards for your favorite bookstore, be sure that you keep the magnets away from the magnetic stripe on the gift card. That would be bad.

Here they are. Remember to click on each picture to get the best resolution before you save them to your desktop.

Enjoy!

Boy (Valentine?) Magnetic Bookmarks

Okay all you whiners out there, I have boyish bookmarks for you now. Just kidding about the whiner part. A reader, Jana, suggested it, very nicely I might add, and I thought it was a great idea. I don't have much boy stuff though, like none, so I had to buy a kit to make these. Had to. That's what I'm telling Peanut Head. Back me up here, will ya?

Anyway, here they are. Just make sure you click on them before you save them to your desktop.

Happy V-Day Peeps!

Valentine Bookmarks

I hope y'all aren't getting tired of my magnetic bookmarks yet, because they're baaaaaaack.

Sorry. I love Arnold.

I made these early so you'd have plenty of time to put some together for your sweeties for Valentine's Day.

Here's the first design, front and back.

This one is my favorite. It must be the teacher in me.

These have a lot of heart. I mean hearts.

I can't get enough of pandas lately. I made these from a digital kit called Pandemonium from Designer Digitals. I bought it a couple years ago here. I also want to try the treat toppers and the matchbook candy favors this year. If I have time.

I'm not so wild about the way these turned out. They look fine until you print them. I printed one at home, had one printed at Wal Mart, and then got some more printed at Walgreen's, and they came out different each time. Instead of a lovely brown background, it's more of a pukey green color. Just consider yourself warned if you want to give them a try.

Also, I wanted to share my new discovery with you.

I can turn one of these magnetic business cards into six magnetic bookmarks now. I've doubled the number of bookmarks I can get out of one business card magnet! I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner.

I'll understand if you aren't as excited as I am.

It's just that me and office supplies, we go waaaaaay back.

Here's how to get six bookmarks. First cut the business card magnet in half.

Then cut each half into thirds.

Then each third in half.

See. This is all you need for each bookmark . . . one little piece right in the middle.

Then I stick the other one on top, peel off the sticky backing, and finally close the bookmark. Now I have perfectly lined up magnets.

Ta-da!

By the way, please don't use your paper cutter to cut the magnets. My magnets are just sitting on the paper cutter for the pictures. I used scissors to cut them. If you were to use your paper cutter, it would be very bad for the blade. Very bad.

Here are the bookmarks if you want to make some. First click on each image to get the best resolution, then save it to your desktop. Don't forget that step or they'll look crappy.

Next, upload them to your favorite photo center, and order them as 4x6 prints. Then when you get them home, cut them in half so that you have two 2" x 6" bookmarks. You will fold each bookmark in half so that the finished size is 2" x 3".

By the way, it was suggested that I needed to make some boyish bookmarks, so you can find those here.

Enjoy!
